Me and Helen pushed all the Femfresh products to the back of the shelf in Boots yesterday and then I stuck my finger up at it. Smash the system amirite?

The reblog comments on Olivia’s original post pretty much sum up why I never really come on Tumblr anymore. SO MANY PEOPLE WITH NO SENSE OF HUMOUR.

Also: “I have the right to have a nice-smelling puss with a healthy PH balance.” Really? You do? Yes, you do - and you can achieve it with using shower gel, not this female-body-shaming crap.

Also: “Wow, you made someone’s day at work really rubbish because you messed up the shelf.” Well - I used to work at Boot’s. Basically, someone will take about 5 minutes AT MOST rearranging the shelf. And guess what, that’s 5 minutes that Boots are paying for. Bearing in mind how much Boots makes by selling this unnecessary, body-shaming crap, it’s a RATHER TINY AMOUNT. Fuck you, Boots. Fuck you, Femfresh.

AND: People are fucked off with Femfresh for many reasons (not least being because it’s a marketing invention. You can clean your fanny with soap and water, or shower gel or whatever, you do NOT need this over-priced crap which can cause cystitis and thrush by… fucking up your natural PH balance. Also, speaking as a bisexual, I happen to like to natural smell of fanny, not car air fresheners), one of which is a patronising bullshit advert they have smeared all over bus shelters saying “WHOO-HOO FOR MY FROO-FROO!” It’s a vagina. It’s a cunt. Can we please stop with the infantilising shite?

Also: There’s a vag-cleaning product in the US called Lysol. Did you know it was originally sold as a floor cleaner, but for some reason a marketing genius (probably male) decided it could be marketed as a vag-cleaner. You were supposed to dilute it but many women ended up burning their vaginas. It was marketed by shaming women into by suggesting that they were failed women if their vagina smelt of… you know… VAGINA.

Let’s just say that again: Femfresh can cause cystitis, Lysol burnt women’s vaginas.

Yeah, you’ve got the right to use Femfresh, but it means you’re also being a mindless consumer. Well done.

(PS: other reasons for not going on Tumblr anymore: people who are transabled. Thinking that you *should* have Down’s Syndrome when you don’t is the most offensive fucking thing I can think of. How fucking entitled do you have to be???? And can you stop stealing the word trans from the trans* community who have very real problems???)
